Solar Fabrik AG: Yet another Fraunhofer study finds PV systems provide maximum yields

Freiburg, April 6, 2010. Solar power systems by Solar-Fabrik AG generate outstanding annual energy yields. A recent study by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) once again confirmed this to be true. The systems already demonstrated exceptionally high energy yields back in 2003 and 2005. The new “Power Check” study has found that the yields from Solar-Fabrik systems have only continued to improve since then.
For the current study, the Fraunhofer ISE tested the data of 115 solar power systems of the Solar-Fabrik AG throughout Germany and assessed each one by location. The supply statements of the respective power supply companies served as the basis for this study. System performance varied from 2 to 10 kilowatts (kW). An evaluation was made of the data from 2005 through 2008.
According to the experts, Solar-Fabrik systems produced very high energy yields: “The photovoltaic systems under study generated, on average, yields of almost 1,000 kWh per kWp,” concludes the Fraunhofer Institute report. “The extremely high yield values are a direct result of the very good irradiation conditions over the last several years and the obvious improvement in system efficiency.” 20% of the systems generated yields superior to 1,000 kilowatt hours per kilowatt output, and an additional 20% produced yields of more than 1,050 kWh/kWp. The best systems generated over 1,100 kWh/kWp in each of the four years. .
“The results once again confirm that our superior quality standards directly benefit our customers,” explained Karl-Heinz Dernbecher, Sales Director at Solar-Fabrik AG. “Our quality management and the permanent continuous development of our manufacturing techology provide our customers with a safe and reliable environment for their investments.”
In addition, the study attests to an extremely high level of system efficiency, the so-called “performance ratio”: “The best systems reached values superior to 85% and are thus within the realm of professional large solar power plants.”
In summary, the Fraunhofer ISE concludes: “The Power Check demonstrates that systems with Solar-Fabrik components […] provide very good results overall. Such a result is only possible using premium modules and inverters, having a good system design as well as a proper installation and a nearly fault-free operation.”
